Compare Clevedent Workstations To Other Popular Workstations

Good Features of the Design Ergonomics Workstation:

  1.  It puts a minimal amount of supplies within reach.  The company states that you use 20% of your supplies 80% of the time.  So basically forget about the other 80% of your supplies.
  2. Clevedent wants you to have as much as possible within reach because it saves time.  Clevedent does not want You or your Assistant getting up to get supplies during treatment.
  3. Clevedent also does not want you over stocking your treatment rooms.  Neither should they be understocked.  There is a correct amount of supplies for each Doctor.  Clevedent has the ability to make accomodations for Doctor’s individual needs.

Negative Features:

  1.  Design Ergonomic Carts holds very, very limited supplies. They can hold disposables like gauze, cotton rolls and suction tips and that’s about it.
  2.  With Design Ergonomics your Assistants are guaranteed to run twice as much as with Clevedent Systems.  With Design Ergonomics, assistants have to run to the lab to get supplies just to set up for patients.  You can have Assistants tripping over each other in the lab/supply area trying to get supplies.  Your Assistants may have to wait in your lab while other Assistants get supplies.  With Clevedent Systems, you will have just the right amount of supplies in each treatment room.  You do not have to run to the lab to set up a treatment room with Clevedent Systems.  That means at least half the running around.  That means you can see more patients.  That means more energy at the end of the day.
  3. Inventory Control-Difficult to label Design Ergonomic tubs and shelves in the lab.  If somebody misplaces something in the wrong slot in the lab or a supply tub, it will be difficult to replace it in the same slot.  While it may look organized, it can be improved.
  4. Very expensive for what you get.  Prices range from $4000 to $8000. The Design Ergonomics Cart is a metal post/stick on 4 wheels.  On top of the post/stick is a piece of Corian.  The Corian has some slots cut in it to hold the drills and suction.  Design Ergonomics sticks an open visible waste basket under the Corian work surface.  On top of the Corian is 2 metal posts/sticks that support an angled shelf that holds 1 tub.  Under the shelf they tack on an angled keyboard shelf.  There are no drawers on the cart.  The Design Ergonomics cart is about minimalism.

In many cases assistants leave the lab possibly carrying a bur block, a tub, impression guns, and instrument trays or more.  It’s a mess if they drop anything while running to a treatment room. Check out the video below which demonstrates my point.
